Based in Albany, North Shore, Kristin School is an independent, co-educational, non-denominational school with more than 1,800 students from Early Learning to Year 13. Our special character school was founded by parents more than 50 years ago and has extensive facilities across 50 acres. Guided by strong values of progress, vision, integrity and love, our environment supports all staff with excellent resources and facilities.

This newly created role is responsible for leading and implementing our Advancement strategy to align with the school’s strategic plan. This pivotal role is responsible for fostering a culture of philanthropy within the wider Kristin community, ensuring the continued growth and legacy of our school.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Planning and Implementation: Develop and execute a comprehensive Advancement strategy that supports Kristin School’s mission, vision, and values, promoting a culture of giving and engagement across all stakeholders.
  • Relationship Management and Stewardship: Oversee and nurture relationships with donors, alumni, parents, corporate partners, and the broader community, ensuring meaningful engagement and effective stewardship.
  • Fundraising Leadership: Lead all fundraising initiatives, including annual campaigns, major gifts, bequests, and special projects, in partnership with the Kristin Foundation.
  • Foundation Oversight: Provide leadership and support to the Kristin Foundation, ensuring alignment with school priorities and effective donor recognition and reporting.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with school leadership, staff, and volunteers to integrate philanthropic values into the school’s culture and daily life.

Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Motuhake 

  • Demonstrated experience in advancement, fundraising, or related roles within an educational or not-for-profit environment.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including donors, corporate partners, and community members.
  • Strong strategic thinking, project management, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for inspiring others and articulating the impact of philanthropy.
  • Commitment to upholding and promoting Kristin School’s values and vision, with a passion for education and community development.
  • Experience supporting or leading a charitable trust or foundation is highly desirable.
