Based in Albany, North Shore, Kristin School is an independent, co-educational, non-denominational school with more than 1800 students from Early Learning to Year 13. Our special character school was founded by parents more than 50 years ago and has extensive facilities across 50 acres. Guided by strong values of progress, vision, integrity and love, our environment supports all staff with excellent resources and facilities.

Due to the retirement of our current Manager after 36 years, this rare opportunity has become available to oversee the campus buildings and facilities for the whole school. This includes our Early Learning Centre, Kindergarten, Junior, Middle and Senior Schools. The role oversees all building and facilities maintenance, security, fire and lockdown processes, vehicles, and coordinates external contractors and building projects. This role works closely with the Environmental and Grounds Manager, who takes care of the grounds, fields and playgrounds.

Reporting to the Director of Business Services, the hours are Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 4.30pm, with some additional hours required for attending to emergency or security situations on campus. It has one direct report, the Assistant Property Manager, who opens the campus each morning and supports all activities. 

Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Motuhake 

This role requires someone who has:

  • Experience with property and facility management
  • Knowledge of the building industry or similar trades
  • Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical systems
  • Experience working with external suppliers and negotiating contracts
  • Experience setting and managing budgets
  • Sound computer skills with operating online security systems
  • Knowledge of Health and safety legislation and requirements
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Great sense of humour!
