Kristin School is a co-educational, non-denominational, independent school on Auckland’s North Shore. It provides education for over 1800 students from Early Learning to Year 13, with dual pathways through NCEA and the International Baccalaureate programme. We seek an inspiring and innovative Mathematics teacher for Year 7-13. Ideally, the successful applicant will have knowledge of the International Baccalaureate curriculum. However, training can be provided. You will work with a dedicated team to develop your professional practice via a collaborative-based professional development programme.  This role requires a commitment to the school’s co-curricular programme and attending Camp Week on an annual basis.

The role requires a Mathematics Teacher who embraces an inquiry-based approach, encouraging students to explore and discover mathematical concepts through active investigation and real-world problem-solving. A strong command of mathematics and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly are essential. The teacher will collaborate closely with colleagues to share best practices, ensuring a cohesive and dynamic learning experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital for building positive relationships with both students, colleagues and parents, fostering an inclusive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for student engagement, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs and encouraging active participation. Above all, the successful candidate will be a team player who motivates students to achieve their best and develop a lifelong appreciation for mathematics.
