Kristin School is a co-educational, non-denominational, independent school on Auckland’s North Shore. It provides education for over 1800 students from Early Learning to Year 13, with dual pathways through NCEA and the International Baccalaureate programme. We seek an enthusiastic and engaging teacher of Outdoor and Physical Education in our Middle and Senior Schools, Years 7-13. This is a unique role provides an opportunity to teach an outstanding outdoor education programme which is well established and highly regarded. Additionally, it will provide an opportunity for a candidate to work with others to develop the programme further. This role involves being away from school and outside of Auckland for periods of time leading course camps. You will work with a dedicated team to develop your professional practice via a collaborative-based professional development programme. This role requires a commitment to the school’s co-curricular programme and attending Camp Week on an annual basis. 

Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Motuhake

A passion for the outdoors and an ability to lead in this space. Knowledge of NCEA Level 2 and Level 3 Physical Education Achievement Standards, along with experience and qualifications in rock climbing, mountain biking, bush craft together with sea and whitewater kayaking, are essential for this role. A knowledge and desire to be compliant with all relevant health and safety legislation and Outdoor Education regulations is also required to be successful. For the candidate with suitable qualifications and experience, there may be leadership responsibilities and allowances with this role. A current full driver’s licence and first aid certificate will be required.
