The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
Kristin School is a co-educational, non-denominational, independent school on Auckland’s North Shore. It provides education for more than 1800 students from Early Learning to Year 13, with dual pathways through NCEA and the International Baccalaureate programme. It has been operating for 50 years and was founded by parents who wanted an independent education for its children on the North Shore after St Anne’s closed in Takapuna in 1972. Originating in Campbell’s Bay, the School shifted to its current premises in Albany in 1978 and has grown significantly over this time to the impressive school it is today.
The Chaplain is to champion Kristin’s Christian Character, heritage, and values by taking responsibility for leading, creating and coordinating services, a range of programmes, and support groups to assist with the personal wellbeing and spiritual faith of students and staff. As a role model of Kristin’s values, this person will assist in developing and supporting service-based leadership programmes to illustrate Christian faith in action.
We are seeking two people to job share the offering of Chaplaincy for our students across our Junior, Middle and Senior Schools. Flexibility is required for the occasional service held outside of school hours. These roles are part of the Wellness team providing a holistic approach to student and staff wellbeing.

This requires someone who:
- Is a practising Christian, that models faith that is inclusive and authentic.
- Has previous and successful experiences working with students and youth.
- Has theological training and qualification.
- Demonstrates confidence and experience with public speaking.
- Has the ability to work as a positive team member and manage own time.
- Ability to engage with a range of audiences and build genuine connections.
- Strong administration and computer skills.
- Committed to Kristin’s values; “Progress with vision, integrity and love”.
